Tea Master Lily's select Silk Oolong Tea, formally known as "High Mountain Ali Shan" Oolong, is the most notable high mountain tea from Taiwan.  Ali Mountain is located in the south-central part of the island and acclaimed for the Alishan Forest Railway that was built by the Japanese in 1899, which literally paved a mountain passway for high mountain tea cultivation. Our Silk Oolong Tea is the Green Heart (青心) varietal of the camellia sinensis, yielding large thick tea leaves with soft stems and considered the premium plant to produce oolong.   Silk Oolong Tea leaves are harvested seasonally from brilliant emerald bushes in the early hours of the morning when young leaves and the budding tips are handpicked under the cloak of a foggy mist.  Aptly named after its smooth, creamy mouthfeel, a golden-hued liquor emanates from the leaves and the subtle pigment translates into gentle fruity floral notes that kiss the palate.  With a touch of depth evoked from their gentle oxidation process, tea aficionados will be delighted to experience the golden glow of our premium high mountain Silk Oolong tea.
